Hi there, I'm Amelie

A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of my life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn’t in the original plan. As with many international assignments, it started as a job opening and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Everyday chores felt more complicated than they deserved.
The Transition Phase
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Created Sable Vivid Lounge
Most online guidance stayed either at the corporate relocation level or only skimmed tourism content. What was missing was a frank, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap with practical advice grounded in real life in France.
